About Canada Packers Hog Production
Hog Production began in 2007 under Maple Leaf Foods, when two independent operating companies, Elite Swine Inc. and Landmark Feeds Inc., were combined. At the time, it was renamed Maple Leaf Agri-Farms as part of the development of a new integrated swine production model.
Today, Canada Packers is one of North America’s largest producers of Raised Without Antibiotics (RWA) pork, meeting growing global demand for sustainably produced, premium quality, value-added pork.
Our Advanced Open Sow Housing system
The majority of our owned sows are housed in our Advanced Open Sow Housing system. Open sow housing allows our sows to live in an open environment during pregnancy, where they are able to roam, eat, sleep and socialize when they want. Our raised hogs are transported in trucks with hydraulic lifts that eliminate the need for the hogs to walk up and down ramps.

- We work with contract producers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta
- 5 feed mills across Manitoba
- 1 washbay facility, where all of our livestock trucks get washed, disinfected, and baked so that we meet all of our biosecurity protocols
- 50 semis and trailers, which are livestock truck and trailers that haul our hogs and feed to all of our locations

Something interesting about Canada Packers Hog Production is how spread across the prairies our locations are! We are based in rural locations across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. - What is your most proud accomplishment?
We’re extremely proud of our commitment to animal welfare. All Team Members play a big part, and we take our roles very seriously when it comes to caring for our animals. - What makes this a fun place to work and a good community to work in?
