Deepak Bhandari

Deepak Bhandari is Chief Financial Officer at Canada Packers. In this role, he oversees all corporate and business finance transactions, including financial reporting, treasury, tax, internal audit, and investor relations. With more than 20 years of experience in the finance sector of the food industry, Deepak brings a wealth of expertise to his role.

Deepak previously served as Chief Financial Officer of the Pork Complex at Maple Leaf Foods. Before re-joining Maple Leaf Foods in 2024, Deepak spent four years at High Liner Foods, serving as Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy, and more recently, as Interim Chief Financial Officer.

Deepak’s earlier career includes various finance roles at Maple Leaf Foods where he led the finance teams for Pork, Poultry and Prepared Meats and was responsible for driving insights, strategic planning, budgeting and delivering cost savings and operational improvements. He also held roles at Andrew Peller Ltd. and Ford Motor Company of Canada.

Deepak holds a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of Alberta and an MBA in Finance from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto. He serves on the board of Victoria University as treasurer and chair of the Finance and Audit committee.
